Mission
Most if not all of the writers here come from heavily restricted areas where one cannot express their opinions freely without harsh consequences in return. The internet, being a medium that is harder to moderate, became a revolutionary tool because of the way writers, more specifically bloggers, began to use it. Not only to express their opinions, but also to reveal information and start campaigns in order to mobilzie people to get involved in achieving positive change.
We at Media Students encourage and help others to get and stay involved no matter what the consequences are. New technology has given us basic freedoms to speak up, and this right should be given, maintained, and respected instead of punished.
Our mission, thus, is the following:
1) To emphasize the fact that blogging is important. It’s empowring average civilians to take action and voice their opinions.
2) It is recreating public dialogue by introducing us to taboos and ideas we were never able to discuss before.
3) It is connecting us and allowing us to fight for freedom, together, as a team, no matter where or who we are.
This network is a support network. We value our rights, and we will fight for it. Join us in this struggle.
